QUEEN's 'Greatest Hits I' Is U.K.'s Best-Selling Album Of All Time
November 16, 2006According to The Rock Radio, "Greatest Hits I" by QUEEN is officially the best-selling album of all time in the U.K.
The compilation, which was first released in 1981, has sold a staggering 5,407,587 copies and has spent a record 20 years in the album charts. Other artists in the top ten were THE BEATLES, PINK FLOYD and DIRE STRAITS.
Surprisingly THE ROLLING STONES, LED ZEPPELIN and BOB DYLAN didn't feature in the top 10.
Positions have been determined by basing sales on data ranging from current sales figures to handwritten till receipts from the 1950s.
The top ten looks like this:
